When in doubt: easy brown sugar glazed ham

A simple, crowd-pleasing recipe for a fully cooked or spiral-cut ham.

    Oven: 325°F (163°C)
    Done when: 140°F (60°C) inside

    Ingredients

    Steps

    1. Heat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
    2. Put the ham cut side down in a roasting pan. Pour the water or broth into the pan.
    3. Cover tightly with foil so the ham doesn't dry out.
    4. Bake about 10 to 18 minutes per pound. Use the planner above for your exact time.
    5. While it bakes, stir the glaze ingredients in a small pot over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, until smooth.
    6. About 30 minutes before it's done, remove the foil and brush on half the glaze. Brush on the rest after 15 minutes.
    7. Bake until the thickest part reads 140°F (60°C).
    8. Rest 10 to 15 minutes, loosely covered with foil, then slice.

Using a "cook before eating" or fresh ham? Follow the same steps, but bake until it reaches 145°F (63°C), then rest at least 3 minutes.
